Our vision is
To promote the mental, physical, emotional, and social growth of all involved in the program.
To educate the community regarding the benefits of riding as therapy, and the abilities of children and adults with disabilities.
To improve the attitudes of society toward persons with disabilities
Reins of Life is a premier accredited member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). For more information about NARHA, go to their website at www.NARHA.org.

Therapeutic horseback riding brings about remarkable benefits to its riders through stretching both mind and muscles. Improvements in posture, balance, coordination, muscle tone, confidence and self-worth are amazing. Spastic muscles relax and muscles not ordinarily used are challenged. For someone who cannot walk, see, communicate or succeed at the simplest tasks, riding a horse allows them to experience a new sense of freedom; they are transported to where dreams come true and spirits soar.
Reins of Life Therapeutic Riding Center was established with the gift of 20 acres of land from Nancy and Lloyd Taylor in 1991. The facility was developed by means of funding from grants and community donations and many hours of volunteer labor. The center now consists of five large pastures with run-in shelters, the main stable with 12 stalls, heated indoor riding arena, large tack room, activity room, office, hay barn, and outdoor riding arena. There is also a covered pavilion and handicapped-accessible playground that enables us to conduct outdoor social programs.

"I know now I'll never see my daughter go to her high school prom. Or walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. But Reins of Life has given my daughter many gifts - the ability to go to a Halloween party, participate in the 4-H fair, and have rewarding therapy sessions with consistency.
"There is something else Reins of Life gives, not to the children but to the parents. It is a time for us to let our guard down, to be with other individuals who have had the same struggles and fears, and to appreciate the accomplishments of all the children. Reins gives us hope."
