Reins of Life now serves nearly 500 riders with 3,000 hours of lesson time annually. Riders come from a 100-mile radius that includes St. Joseph, Marshall, Elkhart, Starke, Fulton, Porter, and LaPorte Counties in Indiana and Berrien and Cass Counties in Michigan. Their disabilities are physical, emotional, mental, and social and range from mild to profound in severity.
Therapeutic riding lessons are held during five sessions throughout the year. Group, semi-private, and private lessons are available. Riders undergo a new rider assessment conducted by the Head Instructor to determine goals, interests, and appropriate class placement.
